Opening Ceremony for Hearst Tower

For the dedication of the Hearst Tower in New York City, production glue produced a live show with three unique environments. production glue successfully met challenges of the aggressive load-in and load-out within a strict timeframe, while keeping the building open to the public and Hearst staff. The most precarious elements included a strategic truss grid for custom-choreographed aerial artists to perform over a $10 million glass waterfall structure at the ceremony. Following the aerial show, a curtain dropped to reveal a surprise performance by the legendary Stevie Wonder. The speaking program included welcome remarks by Governor George E. Pataki, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Hearst President & CEO Victor Ganzi, and Hearst Tower architect Lord Norman Foster. The third environment included a VIP space for Hearst insiders.

production glue was pleased to earn 2 “best of” 2007 BizBash Awards for Best Use of Technology and Best Entertainment/Program Concept for this challenging and elaborate event. Thank you to Bronson Van Wyck for bringing production glue into this incredible, unique project.
