In honor of the 125th anniversary of the famed landmark’s existence, production glue produced the celebratory lighting installation and the opening night party with the Office of the Mayor of the City of New York.
production glue was responsible for coordination with a host of City agencies, State and City Parks Departments, the Coast Guard, and the Office of the Brooklyn Borough President to orchestrate the monumental event. glue teamed with lighting designer Greg Cohen of UVLD to install 26 syncrolites for a five-daylong Memorial weekend celebration – without ever closing the bridge to traffic. The project required close collaboration with City engineers to preserve integrity of the bridge all while maintaining crew safety.
The opening night event included a public party with Grucci fireworks, a program with Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, and performances by Marvin Hamlisch and by the Brooklyn Philharmonic.
production glue thanks the City of New York and all of the partners and sponsors that made this incredible event possible. We look forward to working with you all again!
