Second Annual World Science Festival

production glue Staging Producer Lucas Zimmerman ably took on the task of simultaneously supervising installations at several venues as well as supplying sets, video, audio, lighting, technical direction and stage management for more than 21 staged productions held in the several venues in the NYU/Washington Square Park nexus of the four day science festival.

With engaging speakers from across the scientific spectrum including Lucy Hawking, renowned physicist Sir Roger Penrose and Nobel prize-winning physicist William Phillips covering topics as diverse as parallel universes and navigating the cosmos, the very popular WSF was a resounding success with many sold out events throughout the five day event.

Capping the festivities was the World Science Festival Street Fair held on Sunday June 14th in the recently renovated Washington Square Park.

production glue Technical Director Tim McDevitt worked with Creative Director Peter Downing and Producer Lynn Yaudes to manage the day long street fair that included more than 35 tents, two stages for live performances and many street activations in Washington Square Park, along West 4th St. and on LaGuardia Place.

Providing drafting and layout for the event, as well as supervising the physical requirements including generators, lighting, audio systems and staging needs, and supplying labor and technical direction; the production glue team once again created a safe and enjoyable environment for the many thousands who attended the day long street fair.
