production glue: another hit at the CW Upfront

Friday, May 20th, 2011

production glue was pleased to work our ninth CW Upfront with Valencia Production Partners. This year offered not only new CW programming, but also many new event elements.

SONY DSC For several years, this Upfront has been held at Madison Square Garden Theatre; but with that venue undergoing renovations, it was time to bring the CW elsewhere – so we ventured uptown to New York City’s renowned Jazz at Lincoln Center. The event was divided into three spaces – the Allen Room, Rose Theatre, and Atrium – with live feeds from each area for all the audience to see. As always, the CW Upfront is a big, visually stunning scenic presentation including a pixel-mapped LED built into the scenic elements.

SONY DSC Kicking off the Upfront with a bang were artists LMFAO (accompanied by a flash mob) who performed their current club hit “Party Rock Anthem” – offering the audience a glimpse at subscribing to the party rock life.

Onto the presentations, outgoing chief Dawn Ostroff introduced and passed the mic over to the new boss in town, Mark Pedowitz, who offered a promising future ahead for CW.

SONY DSC The event was once again laced with talent from CW programming – for starters, The Vampire Diaries and Gossip Girl – and promising news shows with actresses returning to the small screen (like Ringer starring Sarah Michelle Gellar as twin sisters and Hart of Dixie with Rachel Bilson playing a city girl turned small town doctor.)

production glue lead Tom Bussey and members of the glue team were thrilled to continue working with Valencia Production Partners – and we wish our friends at CW another successful year ahead!
