This past weekend, glue joined Civic Entertainment Group in the Meatpacking District to celebrate the fourth season of Food Network’s hit show, The Next Iron Chef. After joint success on last year’s “Next Iron Chef Experience,” we were happy to work with CEG again to conceptualize and execute an outdoor kitchen stadium and lounge (sponsored by the show’s host channel Food Network and Time Warner Cable). Before a visual array of stainless-steel utensils and a comfortable “viewers lounge” featuring Time Warner’s Whole House DVR system, enthusiastic fans took the stage as “Chairman” and revealed “secret ingredients,” like craft beer and fall squash to the audience.
As part of the New York City Food and Wine Festival, the interactive event was designed to please crowds of foodies and families–packed with contests, prizes, photos, and guest appearances by the show’s “Super Chef” cast and celebrity host, Alton Brown.
In addition to set design and prop styling, glue’s responsibilities also included technical and artistic direction, graphic support, and audio, video, and lighting management.
